May 2009: This time let's talk root vegetables.

Here's an overview of one of the vegetable beds. With a few exceptions, most of the plants are leftover from last fall, but the main attraction is the blue potatoes I planted here in the front.

Turnips/rutabagas/radishes on the left, onions (red and yellow) in the middle, garlic on the right . . .
Here's a later picture -- the garlic's the singular row on the right, the onions have started dying off in a few rows on the left . . .

I picked several more black radishes, turnips, and rutabagas.
