July 2008: Destruction.

As you can tell, things got dry in July. I took no small pleasure in dismantling it. That meant less watering for me, and I set my sights on the fall garden . . .

A disgraced tomato plant, which I so carefully watered and tended for months, was uprooted, swept aside, and left to die a scorching death.

I went ahead and pulled up the cages and trellises while I was at it -- thought it'd make the yard look less junky while it was fallow.

Here is the clean slate for fall:
